I think it would be in Mr. Obama's self interest and that of the USA
if he started to run the country instead of Nancy Pelosi.

Over 4000 earmarks were added by repubs.

If Obama accepts a capitalist economy, and indubitably he does, then he
isn't a socialist.

Yeah, but he promised this will be the last one. Excuse me while I
prepare my last hit of crack. After this, it's cold turkey, scout's
honor.

Actually the Democrats gave 40 % of the boondoggle to the Republicans
as part of their good ole boys club membership ...
The Republicans added nothing ... they were given that amount ...
In fairness ... when the Republicans were in charge ... they did the
same ... at a significant smaller amount though ...

NO he didn't. They already had a continuation bill in the wings ready
to go that did a straight flat funding of existing programs as is, no
adds, no earmarks, in order to keep the government operating.

Let me suggest that it is a two part problem, not a one part problem.
Earmarks are an issue because the government is spending money they do not
have.  Every dime of "unnecessary" spending, when you are running deficits,
are being paid for by someone else.  On the other hand, "if" they balanced
the budget, then every cent of "unnecessary" spending means they cannot
spend it somewhere else, which may be more important.

If they'd just give him back that line item veto that they took away
from Clinton, there'd be no problem.

That I don't believe.  Is this bill transparent?  He signed it in a
closed room.  Let's see what is in this bill.  I heard Madoff's
charities got $1Billion.  That's recent stuff.  There's plenty of
people out here who don't mind going line by line.

his party, introduced in Congress under his watch. Yet, he couldn't
stand up to his own party and keep his campaign promise.

Not only did Obama LIE, he has proven that he is not a leader.

"Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress
and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review
them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without
giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the
White House website for five days.

Of course, Obama lies. This promise has already been broken twice.
First it was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and second was the
State Children's Health Insurance Program.
